"5 Easy Ways to Protect Yourself Online"
I created this micro-learning course over the weekend using the free trial of Articulate.
Overview:
To showcase my abilities in Instructional Design, I created a short microlearning course over the weekend in Articulate Rise. I used information from the National Cybersecurity Alliance website: https://staysafeonline.org/online-safety-privacy-basics/5-easy-online-safety-tips/ in an article written by Alex Haslam.
- I used the article as my script, imagining its author as my SME.
Audience: Anyone looking for easy ways to begin protecting themselves online.
Responsibilities: Instructional Design, eLearning Development, Visual Design, Storytelling, Gamification, Audio & Video Creation, GIF creation, Prototyping
Tools Used:
Vyond Video, Articulate Rise, Canva
Design Model: ADDIE
Process:
Using brainstorming techniques and the script from the website listed above, and keeping adult learning theories in mind, I created a short course to help users learn and take important steps to increase their security when online.
I implemented the course by publishing it and making my family and friends take the course.
- I would evaluate the course based on user surveys.
Key Takeaway:
This project provided me with the opportunity to work with a pretend SME, and continue to keep my Articulate skills sharp, and challenge myself to create new projects. I continue to learn and grow my instructional design and eLearning creation skills, but mostly, I just really like creating gifs and videos with Vyond and Canva.
